The Chicago Academy of Sciences, also known as Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, has been bringing its visitors closer to nature and science for almost 160 years. Museum is located in Lincoln Park and it's main focuse is on the natural history of the Chicago region. The tour starts with displays about the history of ecological movement in the Illinois region where you will learn about flora and fauna of the region through bright and detailed dioramas. Then, you'll proceed to the famous Judy Istock Butterfly Haven where you will feel the summer and connect with the nature by observing over 40 species of exotic, butterflies and birds flying all around amidst pools, flowers, and trees. Get to know about a butterfly life cycle and watch the first flight of newly-emerged butterflies. After that, you will get to know about climates of the world through Weather to Climate: Our Changing World exhibition. Audio guide will tell you how weather and science are connected and how global climate changes affect humanity. Finally, you will step into the amazing world of nature through landscapes by Stephen Estrada and explore complexity of natural and manmade water flows through the RiverWorks interactive experience.
