This self-guided audio walking tour explores Lisieux through its religious heritage, historic streets, and civic landmarks. It is ideal for travelers interested in Saint Therese, Norman history, and the character of a small French pilgrimage city.

The route begins at Lisieux station and leads into the old episcopal quarter, where you will encounter the former Bishop’s Palace, the Cathedral of Saint Peter, and the garden of the bishopric. From there, the walk continues through the town center past Place François Mitterrand, the Hôtel du Doyenné, Manor Desmares, City Hall, the theater, and Espace Saint-Jacques, mixing sacred sites with everyday city life.

The second half of the route follows the story of Saint Therese more closely, with several viewpoints on the Basilica of Saint Therese, then continues to Ermitage Sainte Therese and the Carmel de Lisieux. After that, you will pass the media library, the Museum of Art and History, Rue Degrenne, the La Ferronnays public fountain, and the medieval Saint Laurent canonical house with its square tower. The tour ends near the Basilica of Saint Therese of Lisieux.

Along the way, the most memorable moments include seeing the cathedral and basilica rise above the town, tracing the life of one of France’s most beloved saints, and discovering how medieval, 18th-century, and modern Lisieux fit together in a compact and deeply atmospheric walk.
