The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is open daily, except Christmas Day, from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM. On most Fridays, opening hours are extended, and you can visit the museum until 09:00 PM.

The museum, a popular destination for families with kids, tends to be crowded on weekends. If you are looking for the least busy times to visit, choose midweek afternoons after 02:00 PM.

Set aside at least two hours to explore all the permanent exhibits and add another one if you want to attend a particular attraction track or watch one of the planetarium shows or IMAX films.

  • Go back in time to the era of dinosaurs

One of the permanent exhibitions takes you on a journey through the ages and allows you to trace the evolution of life on our planet. You will see prehistoric inhabitants of ancient seas, experience the warming and cooling of the Earth's climate, witness the rise of mammals, and learn more about dinosaurs. Where else can you watch Allosaurus and Stegosaurus battling with an 80-foot-long Diplodocus?

  • Take a space travel

The Space Odyssey exhibition gives you a chance to experience what it is like to be in outer space and how to engage with the world beyond us. You will traverse the sensory spacewalk in the Fantasy Spaceship, have your body warp spacetime, drive a rover on the surface of Mars, and many more.

  • Get deep into a real mine

In Coors Gems and Minerals Hall, you can explore a Mexican silver mine and Colorado's own Sweet Home Mine to discover a six-foot wall of stunning red rhodochrosite crystals. You will also be dazzled by a wide range of unique exhibits, such as the largest known pocket of aquamarine ever discovered.

Explore this fantastic attraction guided by your own in-app audio tour Denver Museum of Nature and Science: Travel in Space and Time. You will explore all the highlights and must-sees at your own pace while listening to the stories behind these exhibits.

General admission to the museum costs $22.95 for adults, $19.95 for seniors, and $17.95 for youth. Entry is free for children aged 0-2 and museum members.

The museum also offers free admission to all visitors several times a year on SCFD Free Days. You can check out the schedule on the museum's website.
