Leiden's Hortus botanicus was first planted in 1590, and it's home to all manner of flowery treasures. See the Japanese herbal gardens, a rare tulip tree that's been here since 1716, a famous lily that only blossoms once a year, and much more!

    • Please stay on the designated paths and don't touch the flowers and plant displays!
    • Free booklets with walking suggestions are available at the ticket desk
    • Getting There:
    • Bus: Lines 2, 3, 4, 45, 169, 182 or 187 to Breestraat. Lines 5 or 6 to Kort Rapenburg + 5 minutes walking.
    • Skip the lines at the cash desk and scan your ticket at the entrance
