About Molly Brown House Museum

Although the museum is relatively small, it is never packed because entry is limited to 12 guests at a time. You can choose any convenient slot for your visit. 

If you want to join one of the daily guided tours offered by the museum, get there by 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, or noon. Otherwise, plan your visit for any time of your choice and explore the museum at your own pace. 

The Molly Brown House Museum, also known as House of Lions, is open six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM. The museum is closed on Mondays and major public holidays: New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, and Christmas Eve and Day. 

Once a year, the museum also closes for annual maintenance. In 2023, it is scheduled from the beginning of the year to January 19. Moreover, the museum is closed on select Tuesdays and does not open until 11:00 AM on Thursdays to serve school children.

The museum gives you a chance to experience the home of the Unsinkable Margaret Brown, who survived the sinking of the RMS Titanic and was known as a philanthropist, activist, and woman of extraordinary courage. You can walk through 16 rooms on three floors and explore various objects, which helps you understand Molly's life and historical context. 

  • Go back in time to Victorian Denver

The museum takes you on a journey to the Victorian and Edwardian eras. The house of Molly and mining magnate James Joseph Brown holds massive collections of furniture, dresses, accessories, glassware, and art from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Molly's coats, shoes, and purses help you imagine a woman setting trends in Victorian Denver, while the art collection highlights the leading artistic styles of Molly's time. 

The Molly Brown House Museum is located in a vibrant part of Denver at 1340 Pennsylvania Street and is accessible via public transportation. There are several bus stops nearby, and you can choose the most convenient option depending on your direction. For instance, you can take bus route 6 to Grant St & 14th Ave, or route 10 to 12th Ave & Pennsylvania St stop.

FAQ about Molly Brown House Museum

A regular ticket for adults aged 19–64 costs $14 for Colorado residents and $16 for non-residents. Admission for juniors aged 6–18 is $10 (residents) or $12 (non-residents). The museum ticket for seniors aged 65+, college students, teachers, and military personnel costs $12 or $14. 

Entry is free for children aged five and under, holders of the My Denver Card, and members of the NARM Association.
