Schedule up to three hours to explore the Museum.

  • Explore Madrids’s daring modern and contemporary art museum

Reina Sofía Museum was opened in 1992 to host the 20th-century Spanish art collection dating from 1881, Picasso’s birth year. There are works by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, Julio González, Alfonso Ponce de León, and other pivotal artists.

  • Be mesmerized by Salvador Dalí’s surreal fantasies

Scrutinize the suggestive Great Masturbator and the famous Enigma of Hitler painting, a reason to expel Dali from the surrealist movement.

  • Discover Pablo Picasso’s monochrome antiwar masterpiece, Guernica

After its intercontinental journey from MoMA to Museo del Prado, it is now a top draw at the Reina Sofía Museum.

  • Browse the wide sampling of Joan Miró’s abstractions and sculptures

See his primary-colored paintings that inspired the Barcelona 1992 Olympics emblem.

  • Admire the striking exterior of the Museum

Its 18th-century building and the glass-and-steel recent addition to it by the starchitect Jean Nouvel suggest the cutting-edge artworks inside.

Reina Sofía Museum is located in Madrid, Spain, at Calle de Sta. Isabel, 52. You can access it by subway to Estación del Arte and Retiro stations or by bus to Reina Sofía, Delicias – Atocha, and Prado – Atocha stations.

Reina Sofía Museum's general ticket price is €12.

The Museum offers free admission to seniors over 65 and children under 18.

Nice off season visit, skip the line still came in handy. Got the handset and enjoyed the Miro sculpture in the garden, Picasso’s Geurneca, Alexander Calders sculptures, Dali and the best of the rest. Take about two hours to really enjoy. Cubist exhibit was sadly closed.
