Founded in 1926 and housed today in Brackenridge Park in San Antonio, the Witte Museum features historic artifacts, photographs, Texas art, textiles, dinosaur bones, cave drawings, and wildlife dioramas. The tour starts from the Valero Great Hall where you will meet face-to-face with meet Tyrannosaurus rex. Next, visit the Naylor Family Dinosaur Gallery where you will see creatures who inhabited the land of Texas more than 110 million years ago. Walk through dioramas of McLean Family Gallery and learn about different habitats of the state. Experience the daily life and spiritual world of the people who lived in Texas for over 9,000 years at the People of the Pecos Gallery. South Heritage Center will take you to Texas of the 19th century where you will witness the life of cowboys, ranchers, oil workers as well as plains tribes. Next, stroll through the gardens overlooking the San Antonio River and offering interactive science and physics exhibits. Finish the tour at the Body Adventures experience providing for full-body activities across four floors of interactive adventures for all ages.
