About Gas Works Park

Gas Works Park in Seattle is open daily from 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Gas Works Park is worth a visit at any time, especially during the warm season, and it offers magic views of the city skyline on summer evenings at dusk. Also, it is an excellent viewpoint for watching fireworks on the Fourth of July.

On the other hand, evenings are usually the busiest time, so if you want to avoid crowds, come to the park during the day.

  • Enjoy supreme city and lake views

The park is situated on the north shore of Lake Union, and its green hills offer fantastic panoramic views of the Seattle skyline laid out as a backdrop against sparkling water. It is a great place to have a picnic, watch sailboats and kayakers, fly a kite, and take amazing pictures.

  • Explore the remains of the former gasification plant

Gas Works Park, built on the site of a former coal gasification plant, contains a significant amount of the steampunk-esque original equipment. Some of these structures stand as ruins, while others have been converted into something useful, such as a picnic shelter or open-air children’s play barn.

Gas Works Park is located at the south end of the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle, off Northlake Way, and is easily accessible by car or public bus. Take route 31 or 32 to N 35th St & Wallingford Ave N stop to get there.
