The McNay Art Museum opened in 1954 in the name of a talented painter Marion Koogler McNay who had a keen eye for valuable works by European and American artists, such as Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Georgia O'Keeffe.
This tour will take you through the permanent collection of paintings, sculpture, tapestries, and glass works. You will see and learn the history behind Medieval and Renaissance masterpieces. The Tobin Collection of Theatre Arts will reveal art and artifacts from the 16th century to the present. Next, you will explore European and American paintings, sculptures, and photographs of the 19th through 21st-century. Unique collection of Southwestern Art is another gem of the museum.
