Children’s Museum of Lowcountry: Self-Guided Audio Tours

The museum is open to all visitors daily except Mondays. On Sundays, you can visit the museum from 12 to 5 p.m. The museum’s opening hours on other days of the week are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It’s preferable to visit this museum outside of the tourist season or during the school holidays if you want to avoid crowds. For the same reasons, going there on weekdays or in the morning is the optimal option.

The Children’s Museum of Lowcountry is a museum that has a goal to develop children’s potential by offering several immersive and creative experiences. Here are some of the things visitors can do there:

• Climb aboard a pirate ship. Visitors can also dress up as a pirate, learn how to tie sailor knots, and walk the plank.
• Explore a medieval castle. Here, the museum’s guests can go on an epic quest, look for hidden passageways, and learn historical information.
• Express themselves in the Painting Place. In this space, children can create art using washable paints.
• Try out new ways of self-expression. Among these new ways are weaving, collage making, and painting with oil pastels.
• Play with recyclable materials at the Creation Station. Children can let their imaginations run wild and build anything from recyclable materials like carton boxes.

You can find the Children’s Museum of Lowcountry at 25 Ann Street. Bus routes 210, 211, and 213 are the best transport option. Disembark at the Visitors Center bus stop on John Street, walk for a minute, and the museum will be to your right.
