This private mansion provides the visitor with a peek into the lives of the rich and famous of the period. We visit their home, with its luxurious salons, pompous state rooms, and private living quarters, all of which display the fabulous Jacquemart-André art collection.
Paintings from the 15th to 18th centuries, sculptures, Egyptian artefacts, Louis XIV furnishings... The Jacquemart-André couple collected the finest pieces of art that money could buy. The art was used to decorate their sumptuous home, making it a showcase in its day.
The couple bequeathed their collection to the State on the condition that their home be transformed into a museum that would be accessible to the public. Today Jacquemart-André Museum is probably the most intimate museum in Paris.
