Things to do in Naples for self travelers

Great trip. Exactly as described. The coach picked us up outside the booking office in Ercolano which is directly outside the train station. The coach was on time and air conditioned. The driver was fantastic navigating the winding roads up to the mountain. He pointed out various sights along the way and stopped at view points for photos. Once at the car park we were told our return time. Ensure you get the correct bus as there are several Vesuvio Express coaches coming and going to different locations. We then had 1.5 to 2 hrs to climb and walk around the crater. This was easy done at a steady pace. The climb was about 30 mins up and 20 mins down. Plenty of time for photos at the top. Gift shops and along the way (bit pricey though). Cafe at the top. Great views over Naples, Pompeii and out towards Sorrento and Capri. Definitely need water it is very hot up there. Toilets are available at the start in the car park. Return coach was on time and took us back the booking office at Ercolano. Definitely recommend this trip.

Great trip to Vesuvius, comfortable coach to transfer you to the start point. You get 2 hours to complete the walk, then coach back. Recommend
