Old Perm : An audio-tour through the history of the old city

You'll walk through Perm's historic quarter, learning about the role of merchant patrons in the city's construction, the life of Perm citizens – about the theater, shipping, and much more. The audio tour begins near the Theological Seminary building, where you'll hear the story of the seminary's library and its famous graduates. You'll also see the Cathedral, which housed Perm's renowned art gallery for 100 years, and learn about the life of Andronik, the last archbishop of the Perm province. The route then passes through a park with the unusual name "Goat Corral," associated with the history of railroads and shipping in Perm. You'll see unique buildings designed by the talented Perm architect Aleksander Turchevich . From the Kama River embankment , you'll walk to the mansion of the merchant steamship operator and philanthropist Nikolai Meshkov.You'll see the "Korolev Rooms" hotel, where Grand Duke Michail Romanov spent his final months of life. The tour then continues to the Opera and Ballet Theater.
