Things to do in Brugge for self travelers

Phenomenal museum! The museum provided a sort of phone-like device that you can tap on 54 exhibits throughout to hear the information, and they even have a version specifically for kids! My 4 year old was engaged the entire 1.5 hours we spent there, which is a minor miracle. We enjoyed a couple cones of friets at the end of our visit, and give the entire experience two thumbs up!

Church of Our Lady is a beautiful church and the music playing in the church made the visit even more spiritual. It is also worth paying extra to see Michelangelo's Madonna and Child.

Wow. The level of detail in the Primitives rooms is extraordinary. And boy do the painters love painting cloth. Also the Navez portrait of the doctor and his daughters from 1832 looks like it could be a publicity shot from the latest television costume drama. Spend your time in the first five rooms (I wasn’t a fan of the 20th century stuff). Totally worth the money

Worth paying the extra, not just to see the Michelangelo sculpture but the spectacular pulpit. Never seen anything like it.
