About Independence Hall

Independence Hall is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with extended hours in summer until 7:00 PM.

Visiting the museum should take between one and two hours.

  • See the birthplace of independence

Explore the building where history was made and walk in the footsteps of the Founders of the USA. It was Independence Hall, originally the Pennsylvania State House, where 56 delegates gathered to pledge their "lives, their fortune and their sacred honor" for independence.

  • Discover the gem of Pennsylvania

See the country's most significant rooms where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States were signed. Visit the Congress Hall, the former meeting point of the House of Representatives and the US Senate, when Philadelphia was the country's capital, and the Supreme Court Chamber.

Independence Hall is located at 520 Chestnut Street, west of 5th Street.

Enter the building through a security screening. The meeting point for visitors is behind Independence Hall.

Parking is available in the underground garage of the Independence Visitor Center at 6th and Market Streets. In addition, you can park your car in the garage on 2nd Street between Chestnut and Walnut Streets.

Was a great tour with easy to understand navigation and stories. Only note is the recording for step 24 and 25 have been switched. The leopard info was on with the saber tooth tiger and visa versa. Just fyi

First time doing an audio only walking tour and it was great! Just like an in person one except you have to google any additional questions, but highly recommend and will look for more of these.
