Musée Draï Eechelen (Three Acorns Museum in Luxembourgish) is a museum dedicated to the history of Luxembourg. Located within the fully-restored Fort Thüngen, this museum lets you explore the history of Luxembourg from the middle of the 15th century to the early 20th century. Here are some of its highlights:

  • You can explore a restored 18th-century fort. Austrians built Fort Thüngen to reinforce the Fortress of Luxembourg in 1732. Throughout its history, the fort faced renovations, expansions, and demolitions; after the 1867 Treaty of London, only three turrets (the so-called Three Acorns) remained. The project for the museum was approved in 1996, but it opened its doors only in 2012.
  • Learn the history of Luxembourg. There are several casemates dedicated to different eras in the history of the country. The museum displays around 600 artifacts from different periods of Luxembourg’s past. These periods range from the Burgundian conquest of 1443 to the opening of the Adolphe Bridge in 1903.
  • Visit various temporary events. This museum regularly hosts exhibitions and other limited-time events within its walls. These events, like the permanent exhibition, are free of charge.

Musée Draï Eechelen is a museum inside Fort Thüngen in the Kirchberg district of Luxembourg City. You can get there by bus, light rail, or on foot. Bus routes 6, 16, 18, 21, 201, and 811 will take you there. Kirchberg, Rout Bréck – Pafendall is the closest bus stop to the museum; you will see it from the bus stop.
