The Glastonbury Festival tips & tricks

  • 1
Bring your own food and drinks
Save money and time, but don't bring too much. The limit is 16 cans of beer or cider or 3 liters of wine per person, and no glass bottles are allowed. You can also buy food and drinks from the many stalls and bars on the festival grounds, but they might be expensive and busy.
  • 2
    Be prepared for any weather
You'll need layers, waterproofs, sunscreen, and a hat to protect yourself from the cold, the rain, and the sun. You'll also need wellies and a torch to walk through the wet and dark fields at night.
  • 3
    Choose your camping spot wisely
Stay away from areas that can get flooded or areas that are close to toilets or stages that can be loud or stinky. Get there early to find a good place, and put something unique on your tent so you can recognize it easily.
  • 4
Experience more than just the music
There are so many other things to see and do, like art installations, circus acts, comedy shows, theater performances, workshops, healing fields, and more. Keep an open mind and a sense of adventure, and you might stumble upon something wonderful.
  • 5
    Enjoy yourself and be careful
Glastonbury Festival is a place where you can do whatever you want, but also where you have to take care of yourself and others. Drink enough water, use the free water taps and refill stations, take some time to rest from the crowds and noise, keep your valuables safe, respect nature and the people around you, and don't take anything you're not sure about.

What's the price of Glastonbury Festival tickets?

The full weekend ticket to Glastonbury 2023 costs £335 plus a £5 booking fee. This is £55 more than the last year, which the co-organizer Emily Eavis justified by the increasing expenses of putting on the festival and the huge financial loss of two years without a festival because of COVID.

Can you buy Glastonbury Festival tickets in June?

We're sorry to tell you this, but the official festival's website says that there are no more tickets for Glastonbury 2023. There was the general admission resale two months ago, in April — you could get up to 6 tickets in one transaction by paying a £50 deposit for each person.

Be careful not to fall victim to unauthorized touts who may try to sell fake or invalid tickets. You cannot buy Glastonbury Festival tickets second-hand. All tickets for the festival are individually personalized to the named ticket holder and are strictly non-transferable. Security checks are carried out on arrival, and only the specified ticket holder will be admitted to the festival.

How to get to the Glastonbury Festival for free?

If you're determined to see your favorite performers at all costs, there are some ways — legal, of course! If you have the right to work in the UK, you can always get a paid job at the Glastonbury Festival or become a volunteer. Here are some of the companies that usually hire workers and volunteers for the festival:

  • Oxfam
  • Festival Medical Services
  • Oasis Carnival
  • Festaffs
  • WaterAid

Where to watch the festival?

If you can't go to the festival, you can still enjoy it from home by watching the BBC coverage of Glastonbury 2023. The BBC will show live shows, interviews, highlights, and more from the festival on TV, radio, and online. You can also watch performances from past years on BBC iPlayer.

When is the next Glastonbury Festival?

Glastonbury 2024 is planned to happen from Friday, 23th to Sunday, 25th June. The tickets usually go on sale in October of the previous year, and there is another sale in March of the same year as the festival. You also have to register on the website before you can get tickets for 2024.
