About Parco del Valentino
Valentino Park (Parco del Valentino) is a public park in Turin that is open 24/7, all year round.
Every season has its beauty, but the best time to visit Valentino Park is late spring, summer, and early autumn, when the park is most appealing. Moreover, one of the park's attractions — the botanical garden — can be visited only from April to October.
You can come to the park at any time you want, but please note that some individual attractions located in the park have their own opening hours. For instance, if you're going to explore the reconstructed medieval village, you can do it from 09:00 AM to 08:00 PM.
- Enjoy the fresh air and picturesque views
Valentino Park is the oldest and second-largest public park in Turin. Nestled along the river Po, the park is perfect for walking, cycling, picnicking, taking pictures, and relaxing. It offers lovely views, tall trees, tiny squirrels, and a wealth of bird life.
- Explore the medieval village
Valentino Park is more than just a green oasis, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the city. The park also houses many attractions, including the Borgo Medievale, an open-air museum with a reconstructed medieval village and castle. It was created in the 19th century to enhance Piedmont's historical and cultural traditions.
- Admire the grand Castello del Valentino
One of the park's picturesque highlights is the Valentino Castle, one of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy. Now it houses the Architecture Faculty of the Polytechnic University of Turin. Besides this impressive building, you can find a historic botanical garden and arboretum operated by the University.
Valentino Park is extensive, and its entrances are located in the different parts of the green area. One of the gates is a 5–7-minute walk from Marconi subway station, served by the M1 Line. You can also reach the park from Porta Nuova station by walking down Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Alternatively, you can get to the park by bus or light rail.
Valentino Park is a great place to take a break and rest after exploring the city center and discovering its most famous attractions.
