When is Sziget Festival 2023?
The festival will be held from August 10 to August 15 this year. The main stage shows begin at 4 p.m. and finish at 11 p.m. each day, but there are other stages and activities that go on until 6 a.m. or later.

How to go to Sziget Festival for free
There is no official way to go to Sziget Festival for free, as you need to buy a ticket to enter the festival area. However, there are some unofficial ways, such as volunteering for the festival or one of its partners, which may give you free access or discounted tickets. Or you can follow the festival's updates on social media and try and win a ticket from a contest or a giveaway, which may be organized by the festival or its sponsors.
How to get to the festival
The festival is located on Óbuda Island, a small island in the Danube River, north of the city center of Budapest. You can get to the island by different means of transportation, such as:
- 1By public transportYou can take bus lines 34, 106, or 226 to the Hajógyári-sziget stop or bus line 9 to the Szentlélek tér stop. From there, you can walk or take a shuttle bus to the island.
- 2By boatYou can take the boat line D11 or D12 from various stops along the Danube to the Hajógyári-Sziget stop. The boat service is free for Sziget ticket holders.
- 3By bike or scooterYou can cycle to the island and use one of the free bike parks there. You can also rent a bike or a scooter from one of the bike rental services in Budapest.
Where to watch Sziget Festival 2023
If you can't make it to the festival, you can still watch some of the performances online via live stream. Sziget Festival usually provides live streaming of some of the main stage acts on its official website or YouTube channel. You can also find some unofficial live streams on other websites or platforms. However, the live stream may not cover all the artists or stages, and the quality may vary depending on the source.
