Easy check in. Nice bus ride there and back. Wear shoes to hike in as it is all loose rock and sand to climb. Beautiful views at the top.

Perfect service to obtain next day or day after that tickets which are not available through official site. You get really cheap return ticket plus entrance ticket for volcano. Getting to Ercolano Scavi station (Vesuvio Express) is easy by train 13 or 14 from central station. One should not expect super exact timing - don't worry if bus is late few minutes - you'll get there. On the volcano entrance have some patience so that they can get whole group in. I highly recommend taking 9AM tour - less people on the mountain. I am 50y old and slow and still managed to get to the end of trail, buy souvenirs, take 100s of photos, take pause couple of times and return from the trail 25min before the bus arrived to bring us back; I do not understand people complaining of not having enough time. Well, if you're late there are many other buses leaving and taxis below the stop.
