About Pipe Museum
The Amsterdam Pipe Museum is open six days a week, Monday through Saturday, from 12:00 PM to 06:00 PM. The museum is closed on Sundays, King’s Day (27 April), Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
The museum is relatively quiet but tends to be more crowded on Saturdays. It is better to plan your visit for any other day.

Situated in a historic canal house with an atmospheric interior, it showcases a rich collection of pipes from all continents. You can see the variety of shapes and materials and learn about the history and traditions of pipe smoking.

The museum collection includes prehistoric pipes from Central and South America, dating back to 500 BC and even earlier. You can also find exclusive porcelain figural pipes, a Chinese ivory opium pipe, and a meerschaum tobacco pipe with a lid with seven cannons that steam when smoking.
The Amsterdam Pipe Museum is located on one of Amsterdam’s famous canals at Prinsengracht 488. The easiest way to get there is by light rail. Take the 2, 12, or 13 line and get off at Prinsengracht, a 2-minute walk from the museum entrance.
