Welcome to Porolissum! This is the northernmost camp of the Roman legions in the province of Roman Dacia conquered by Trajan. It was erected to protect the important Carpathian passes from the raids of nomadic tribes and very quickly Porolissum became one of the most important centers of the Romanization of Dacia.
