    About Royal Palace

The Royal Palace of Turin (Palazzo Reale di Torino) is open six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday, from 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM. It is closed on Mondays, December 25, and January 1.

The ideal time to explore indoor attractions, such as the Royal Palace, is during November or March when the city is less crowded with tourists. The palace tends to be busier on Tuesday and the weekend, so it is better to plan your visit for Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.

    • Admire rich interiors

Being a historic palace of the House of Savoy, this museum is an excellent example of a luxurious royal residence of the 16th and 17th centuries. Taking a walk through its rooms, you can admire precious tapestries, frescoes, paintings, and richly decorated furniture.

    • Marvel at the royal art collection

Besides the palace, you can visit the Sabauda Gallery, which contains the art collections amassed by the House of Savoy. You will marvel at paintings by Paolo Veronese, Filippino Lippi, and other famous Italian artists, as well as works by Netherlands painters, such as Rembrandt and Jan van Eyck.

    • Explore historical arms and armor

You can also explore the Royal Armory of Turin, considered one of the world's most important weapons and armor collections. You will find unique objects such as Henri II's parade shield and the sword used by Napoleon during his campaign in Egypt.

The Royal Palace of Turin is located in the heart of the city, at Piazzetta Reale, 1. The closest bus and light rail stops are Castello and Duomo. If traveling by train or subway, get off at Porta Nuovo and take a 15-minute walk down the street named Via Roma.

The Royal Palace is surrounded by other city landmarks: beautiful squares, famous museums, and remarkable historical monuments.
