    About Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile

The Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile (National Automobile Museum), also known as Mauto, is open daily, all year round. It welcomes visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 07:00 PM. On Monday, the museum closes at 02:00 PM.

The museum is open on major holidays, such as Christmas and New Year's Day, but opening hours might be reduced.

The museum tends to be busier on weekends, so it is better to plan your visit for weekdays. Come at 10:00 AM to catch the quietest time and set aside two hours to explore all the exhibits.

    • Admire 200 cars from 80 brands

Being one of the most famous tech museums in the world, the Museo Nationale dell'Automobile houses a spectacular collection of vintage and modern cars. It consists of over 200 exhibits representing 80 automobile brands from different European countries and the United States. You can admire Ferrari and Alfa Romeo racing cars and the legendary Model T by Ford.

    • Trace the evolution of the automobile

The museum's collection transports you through the ongoing evolution of the car. You can explore the visionary project of Leonardo da Vinci, 19th-century steam coaches, the first Italian motor cars — Bernardi Triciclo 3,5 HP from 1896 and Fiat 3,5 HP from 1899 — and a wide range of 20th-century inventions and even take a glimpse into the future of cars.

The Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile is located in the "motor city" Turin, at Corso Unità d'Italia 40, and you can easily get there by public transportation. Take subway Line 1 to Lingotto station and walk down Via Garessio — you will reach the museum in about 10 minutes.

Another good option is to get there by tourist bus. Take City Sightseeing Bus Line B and get off at Stop 4, right in front of the museum.
