If you’re in Paris, looking for a nice walking route to spend an hour, we are pleased to invite you to join this tour. It will guide you through the district of Saint-Paul – a charming historic area, which is a part of the larger Le Marais quarter. Generally known for its impressive architecture, luxurious shops, and vibrant nightlife, it also hides some rare gems, such as Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis church. You will learn the story behind this marvelous Baroque masterpiece, admiring its interior and façade in the tiniest details. Then, you will walk along Rue Charlemagne and enjoy its 15th-century appearance with a row of ancient houses. In these narrow streets, you will discover Hotel de Sens which was once leased to the notorious Queen Margot. After listening to the bright story of this building, you will suddenly find yourself in a haven of peace and tranquility, the Village Saint-Paul. It started in the 14th century as a royal residence with chic apartments and a maze of courtyards in the middle of extensive grounds where caged wild animals used to live. Today, you will have a chance to experience some quality shopping here, as the Village Saint-Paul assembles famous designers, antique dealers, and gallerists. Our next stop will be in the Rue de Lions, where Madame de Sévigné used to write her famous letters. And finally, you will reach Rue Beautreillis and see the house where France’s most renowned female poisoner got up to her evil tricks in the 17th century.
